Author how do you move the data location?

I've read that some people have had problems moving their data directories, so I wanted to ask if it
really works before trying it. Here's what I think that I need to do:

1. stop mysql server
2. edit e:\mysql\my.ini and change
datadir=E:/mysql/Data/
to
datadir=E:/2005/mysql/
3. copy all of the files and subfolders from e:/mysql/data to e:/2005/mysql
4. delete e:/mysql/data and its subfolders
5. restart mysql server

Would that work? I want to be sure so that my databases don't become corrupt.

thanks,
Ralph
