| Hi everyone,
any help would be appreciated. I'm getting frustated with this.
I'm trying to use mysql server as the backend, and pull the data and
display it using linked table in access. The server i'm using for mysql
server is a windows2000 server.
HOWEVER, the MYSQL odbc failed to work. when trying to link tables in
MS access(file, get external data, link tables, etc etc.), after I
chose a DSN name, MS Access freeze a couple of seconds, and then an
error message "MS ACCESS has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvinience" and there is a "send error" and
"don't send" button on the window.
this happens everytime. The weirdest thing is: I install myodbc on a
different computer with windows XP, and connect to the mysql server, IT
WORKS. i can pull the table and everything.
but it just won't work when i do it on the server where mysql resides.
although the odbc connection test was successfully done.
i've reinstalled myODBC, and MDAC from microsoft, but it just won't
help.
can anyone please help???
