Monitor 8i databases in OEM 10g
|
|
|
| I have a 8i databases on HPUX 11.0, can these databases be managed from
OEM 10g. I tried to install the client agent on the server but it
errors out because HPUX 11.0 is not supported from the 10g agent
install.
Is there an agent that I can install on 8i HPUX 11.0 to communicate
with 10g?
Thanks,

There is not. The net driver in 10g is not compatible with 8i anymore,
8i being several major releases behind, and desupported.

Maybe an intermediate solution would be to install the Oracle 9i Intelligent
Agent in a separate Oracle home on the 8i server ? It's compatible with 10g,
and has no problems monitoring Oracle 8i databases.
