Yes, they can reside side by side, but you may not use SQL Server 2005 Betas
for production. Install it on a test machine that in the worst case, can be
re-installed from scratch.
Current version of the Beta is SQL Server 2005 June CTP.

It will be released during the week of 7 November 2005.
