SQL 2000 W2K3 Terminal Services
|

| I am trying to install SQL 2000 on a Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition Server.
This machine already has Terminal Services installed. SQL appears to
install fine but when I patch to SP4 some componenants get installed to my
personal home drive (H:) and I get an error message about Full Text indexing
not being installed. I have reviewed:
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;301520
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=327270
And still don't know whether I can have SQL 2000 on a Windows 2003
Enterprise Edition Server running Terminal Services. Can I do it by
installing SQL 1st, then Terminal Services?
Thanks,
Noel Kennedy

not sure what the other issue is, but I have installed SQL 2000 on a
Win2k3 server with TS installed. Now for the qualification; SQL 2000 then
SP3a, TS was remote admin mode, but 2k3 was DEFINITELY Ent.Ed. <g>
are you installing this thru TS? Have you tried doing the install with
another admin account? have you tried installing SP3a (which is the min
for a Win2k3 box) to SQL 2000 before SP4?

| I performed installation at console of the W2K3 machine. I installed SP4 on
top of the un-service packed SQL 2000 install. I have tried installing as
myself (I am local admin on the box), this appeared to install several
components on my personal home drive (h:) rather than the local c: drive. I
then unintalled and tried to install as the Administrator account on the
box. This time was just as unsuccessful but the normal installation log
files weren't created so I can't tell what went wrong.
