Can anyone comment on SQLPass summit (2005 PASS Community Summit) to be held
in Grapevine, TX.
Is it worth it to enroll in this. They have some preConference sessions
also.

There website doesn't seem to be impressive at all. Postings in their forum
are quite old which tells not many people visit their.

Any other recommendation of better summits/conferences.

IMHO, this is the premier conference for SQL professionals. The speakers
are very good and the presentations are always top-notch. Microsoft heavily
supports this conference and sends many SQL heavy hitters as presenters.

As for the pre-conference sessions, I have taken one in the past and been
very impressed. If you have a question about a particular class or
presenter, feel free to ask. Who knows, you may even get a response from
the presenter.

FYI, I negotiated time and support for attending this conference in my last
employment agreement. I will be in Dallas this year.

Can we get those that are attending (especially from the SQL MVP gang) to
sound off?

I'm trying to decide if I want to show up. I already live in Dallas, but
might have to miss the last day if I go....

I suspect there will be an unusually large MVP contingent at the PASS summit
this year. Microsoft scheduled the global MVP summit during the same week
as the SQL PASS summit. The two organizations got together and worked it
out so the SQL MVPs didn't get hosed, especially since many MVPs had
committed to present at PASS before the other schedule was announced. For
the SQL MVP team, this will be our "MVP Summit".

As Geoff mentioned, many of the MVP's will attend, and some will also present...

I'll be there (not giving any presentations).

SKIP IT THIS YEAR!

If your company can only send you to one conferance, go to SQL Connections
in Vegas this year.
There they will launch SQL Server 2005. Most of the SQL Server dev team will
be there as well.

Take a Pass at SQL Pass in September. All of us are.

Pepto....are you an MVP? What group do you refer to when you say 'All of
US" are skipping it?

I run the show and get to send myself wherever I like....:-)
