xp_sendmail: failed with mail error 0x80004005

| Outlook client 2000 has been installed on SQL Server 2000 SP3a, I'm able to
send and receive emails to and from this Outlook account.
However, I get this error message when trying to execute xp_sendmail:
xp_sendmail: failed with mail error 0x80004005
Please advise, thank you in advance for your time!
