Author Extent Fragmentation and Text Indexes

I'm looking for some insight on high extent fragmentation on text
indexes. I'd like to exclude them from any reporting or internal
attempts at re-indexing and it seems logical, but I've not found it
documented anywhere ( it is noted on logical frag ).
Any comments would be welcome.
