Where can I find FoxPro and Visual FoxPro OLE DB data provider
|

| Hi,
Just trying to find out where I can download the appropriate driver as
described in the response below - this particular link
(msdn.microsoft.com/vfoxpro/downloads/updates) does not have the
download I need - just service packs.
THANKS
Yes, older format DBFs can be opened with Excel but you will lose the
content of any Memo fields. As an alternative you can download and
install
the FoxPro and Visual FoxPro OLE DB data provider from
msdn.microsoft.com/vfoxpro/downloads/updates and then use the SQL
Server
Import Wizard or set up a linked server.

It's right there on the page that you linked to...
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Visual FoxPro 9.0 SP1
The Visual FoxPro OLE DB Provider (VfpOleDB.dll) exposes OLE DB
interfaces that you can use to access Visual FoxPro databases and tables
from other programming languages and applications. The Visual FoxPro OLE
DB Provider is supported by OLE DB System Components as provided by MDAC
2.6 or later. The requirements to run the Visual FoxPro OLE DB Provider
are the same as for Visual FoxPro 9.0. Note:This version of the VFP OLE
DB provider is the same version as the one included with Visual FoxPro
9.0 SP1.

| Isn't this just for Visual FoxPro 9, we have an older version, I
believe. It's not that I don't believe you but, I need to be cautious
about what I'm installing.

| Hi!,
It works for all versions of FoxPro DBFs. Each version of the OLE DB data
provider includes improvements and is fully backward compatible so you
really do want the latest version.
