Column widths in Management Studio

It irritates me that the new Management Studio sets the column widths
so that the column headers get truncated. I can expand the column width
later to see the full colum name, but they don't stick.

Does anyone know if there is a registry tweak or a buried option to
prevent this? I posted an example of the problem here:
