I loaded the SQL Server 2005 evaluation copy on my computer that has XP
Professional operating system. I received the error listed below when I
tried to connect to the Database Engine. The SQL Server Brower service is
fine.

I would like to use SQL Server 2005 only on my computer is there away to
disable SQL Server 2005 so that it will look for remote connections?

Thanks,

Error
An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When
connecting to SQL Server to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by
the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote
connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error 40 - Could not open a
connection to SQL Server)(Microsoft SQL Server, Error 2)

As a security measure, SQL 2005 disables external connections by default.
It also turns off a number of other features that could pose security risks.
Use the SQL Server Surface Area Configuration tool to enable these features
as you choose.
