I am trying to help my dad at his small company, he wants to shrink the
transaction log file. From what I have been reading I need to use DBCC
Shrinkfile, but I have no idea how to execute that file....I am new to
SQL server, can anyone help walk me through this? Thanks

You execute the command from the Query Analyzer tool, found in the SQL Server program group. You
might also want to read http://www.karaszi.com/SQLServer/info_dont_shrink.asp

Could you post why it is necessary to shrink this file.

Thanks,
Izzy
