XP Media center won't connect

| I have an application that works at hundreds of sites.
At this customer's site, they have 1 XP Media Center and 2 XP Home
machines. When I try to access the SQL Server via our VB.NET application
by SQL Server Name, the XP Home machines work, the media center machine
fails with an error 14: Invalid connection. WHen we connect to the SQL
machine by the IP address, the media center machine works the XP Home
machines receive an error 17: SQL Server does not exist or access is
denied.
Any idea why the media center machine is acting this way?

| Hi
Have you checked the client protocols installed and being used on each of
these systems? Also check network settings, virus checker, firewalls etc. See
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827422/en-us for more troubleshooting
