Why would you even consider starting the Messenger service on a Server?

Agent has an option to alert an operator through NET SEND, which uses the Messenger service. If the
service isn't started, then Agent will write this entry to the eventlog. The messenger and Alerter
(used on the client which receives the message) is considered security risky and are both disabled
with XP sp2. If you don't Alert operators though NET SEND you can ignore this entry.
