Author -2 SPID

I have a user who was running a script which was hanging on the exec
statement. His SPID was assinged a -2. I looked into this and found that
a -2 SPID is assigned to orphaned DTC transactions.

However in the case of this user, no other SPIDs were being blocked and
there was no orphaned DTC transaction. What could have happened? Are -2
SPIDs also assigned under other circumstances?
