Hello All,

One of our DBA’s left and he had owned some of the Jobs that he had setup. I
changed the owner of the Job to sa and deleted his account - "Portfolio\mpaul
" (Windows Authenticated) from the SQLServer Logins. This account is also
disabled from the Active Directory side.

Later, some of the Jobs that he owned (which is now owned by “sa”) keeps
failing. Since sa is the new owner of these jobs these should work - so I
thought. But these are failing.

Would anyone know how to sort this one out.

<<The job failed. The owner (Portfolio\mpaul) of job Agent history clean
up: distribution does not have server access.>>

Thanks,
rgn

It looks like you have a job that is calling another job -and the second one
is STILL owned by & #91;Portfolio\mpaul]
.

You need to transfer ownership of that second job [Agent history clean up:
distribution] to SA as well.

I checked and the Jobs that are failing are not calling any other jobs. For
example this Job "Agent history clean up: distribution" is a replication job
and it was failing.

However, I changed the owner of the Job to the SQLServer Service account and
it is working now. But I still dont understand why these would fail when the
owner is "sa".
