We're currently running the 32-bit edition of SQL Server 2000
Enterprise Edition. When we purchased it we were led to believe that if
we wanted to use the 64-bit software then the license covered us to use
this as well and all we need to do is request the installation media.
However, having bought a new 64-bit server I tried requesting the media
only to be told that the offer only applys within the USA and Canada.
As a British customer we must buy 2 new CPU based licenses at a further
cost of =A350k.... can this be right? Can Microsoft get away with giving
it's British customer such a different level of service compaired to
it's American customers? Surely this is outrageous!
