Author NT Password change

I have a SQL Server client tool installed and has registration to 25 plus SQL
Servers. When my NT login expires and needs to change the password, all my
SQL Server registration in my client tool fails. So I need to register again
with my new windows password.

How can I prevent this failure as my NT password changes? It is a big
organization and we use active directory services.

Thanks in advance

David...are all your SQL Servers in the same domain as your
workstation...you should not have to do this if this is the case...if they
are all stand alone servers, then yes, I could see where your password could
be out of sync on those servers from that of your domain account....I've had
my domain password expire many times, and have had to change it with no ill
affects to my registered servers in EM.

What tool are you using? Is it a non-MS tool? I would be worried in that
case since it sounds like the tool would be storing your password somewhere
rather than doing pass-through authentication.

I am using MS SQL Server Client tools and not any non-MS product.
This problem happend with me if SQL Servers are in the same domain too.

Can this happen due to Active directory services not relaying the password
change on all the domains?

You may very well have a synchronization / replication issue in AD....might
want to talk to your domain admins about the issue....this shouldn't be
happening at all. I have worked in 600 server environments and had SQL
servers scattered all acroos the nation to support, and have never seen this,
unless it's a replication issue with AD....
