Service account credentials
|
|
|
| Hi,
SQL 2000 is running on a cluster in a 2k3 AD.
What is the safest way to change SQL service account passwork without
affecting anything else, having the fact that that service account is a
member of backup operators group.
Thanks
Yba

| Hi
I have not used Kerberos.. but I believe that is only if you change the
account, I think that you don't need to drop the SPN if only changing the
password. You will soon find out if you need to!!!
After changing the password you should stop/start SQL Server. Quite often
service accounts do not have password expiry on them to avoid disruption to
service.
