Hi,

We've been using mysql and are excited to look into the sql express edition
as a replacement. We would be implementing SQL Express in a production
environment of small startup. My question:

If the company succeeds and begins to outgrow the size and memory
limitations of the Express edition what is process to upgrade the database to
the Standard edition? Is it just as simple as adding the license info? Or
would we need to reinstall using the Standard edition? I apologize if this
topic has been covered I could not find it. I hope there is an easy way for
us to upgrade from express to workgroup or standard without any downtime.

You would need to run the setup for Standard Edition to do the upgrade.
Standard includes quite a bit more software than Express so changing the
license would leave you with only a partial version of standard.
