Author 2005's Rebuild Master fails - How to fix registry's Install Path?

This is a question for SQL 2005 users.

Rebuild Master is failing if the "current" path to the "setup.exe" is not
the same as when the service was first installed. In this case, the
original share and path has been long forgotten, so the install bits are now
in a new and different path. The customer is rebuilding master so they can
change the collation. The following command line is being used, but fails
if the bits are not in the same location as when 2005 was first installed:

start /wait setup.exe /qn INSTANCENAME=MSSQLSE
RVER REINSTALL=SQL_Engine

REBUILDDATABASE=1 SAPWD=P@ssw0rd SQLCOLLATION=French_
CI_AS

Somewhere there is a registry key that references the original install path.
If that can be altered to match the known path of the share today, then the
rebuild should work.

But what and where is that registry key? I suspect it is somewhere in this
area of the registry, but I need advice on a more precise location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\S
OFTWARE\Microsoft\Wi
ndows\CurrentVersion
\Installer
