| I have a client who is migrating their network from an nt domain to active
directory domain. I have a number of application running at this
organization that utilize sql server 2000. All logins to the sql server
databases are done using nt groups. This allowed my clients to maintain who
had rights to the various databases through the domain.
Just to point out, i have very little knowledge of active directory.
The network people created a new organizational group for each application
and then created a group under this orgization unit. Then they put the user
into these groups.
Well when i go to Enterprise manager and go to security and Logins and
select new login. I get the login properties window. I change the domain
to the new active directory domain. Here I can see individual accounts and
built in groups but I can not see the groups that were created by the
network people.
Note: They plan to migrate their domain a few users at a time, so the sql
server machine is still on the old domain. The sql server service runs under
a network account from the old domain.
Any idea's?
