xp_sqlagent_proxy_account, cannot delete

| My Sql Server machine name was changed. So I used Sp_dropserver and
addserver to change the name. Now I want to set the
xp_sqlagent_proxy_ac
count to the new user in the local machine. So when I
try to set it to the new user I get
No mapping between account names and security IDs was done.
When I go a 'get', it has the old machine name, in it. When I try to 'del'
it still gives me the same error. Anyone knows to resolve this issue.

| Hi
The quickest solution may be to resort back to the old configuration and
delete the account before changing everything back.Once you have changed the
server name as the proxy account no longer exists.

| Thanks John, I was afraid of that, will try that. So does that mean there's
another way to do it, than resorting to going back to the old name, etc.

| Hi
I could not find a way to do it, you may want to try searching the registry
for references to that account.
