Hi,

It's not a Reporting Services problem, it's an Analysis Services one.

I assume you are using the Analysis Services tutorial for Sept CTP. I
know this problem has been reported for that.

I don't know the precise cause of the problem. Try selecting fewer
tables when you hit the Add Related Tables button.

You may not then be able to do all the analyses that the tutorial
expects. But you may be able to use the Browser tab, which is your
current problem.

I have seen a suggestion posted, but haven't checked it out, that you
can get past the problem because there is a version of the project
which has been pre-created for a later lesson ... Lesson 4? ... of the
tutorial.

I'm an Business Intelligence student and trying to do a cube assignment
using September CTP of SQL 2005. When I try to browse my deployed cube by
dragging any field from the cube attribute list into the data pane I get the
following error:

The query could not be processed:
o Memory error: While attempting to store a string, a string was found that
was larger than the page size selected. The operation cannot be completed.

I read on a forum that this 'known' sept. ctp problem surfaces with
client-side record sizes greater
than 1k, so a possible workaround might be to rework the cube structure to
reduce record sizes. I don't really know exactly what is meant by that.

If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

Hi Andrew,

It is a bug in the September CTP which sometimes crashes using the OLAP OLE
driver.... It is fixed in recent builds...

Best regards
