Where to start with data warehousing? Certification?

| I'd like to start learning about data warehousing, specifically with the
proper design of them. Does anyone know if there is a certification program
out there specifically on DW design? Id really like to get the design part
down before I get into vendor specific tools. If not, is there recommended
reading?

Read books by Kimball and Inmon to get a complete picture. Also laern
about dimensional modeling.
As for certification there is the TDWI(The data Warehouse Institute
tdwi.org) CBIP certs. They also offer seminars and conventions where
they teach BI principles.
