| Hey Everyone,
I have both SQL 2000 and SQL 2005 Standard, I was wondering how tough
it would be to offer data warehousing I have an OC12 backbone and I am on a
t1 burstable so bandwidth would not be a problem, Where would I start if I
wanted to do something like this? Also what would be some good reading for
security on such a thing. I have 2 Servers that are laid out like this.
Dual Core P4 3.2 GHZ
2 gig of Ram
750 GB hd space
and I am behind a 600 dollar LinkSys RV016 Router
Is this sufficient enough to do such a thing? Also what would I need to
allow potential customers to start using right away with no intervention
from me. Also what type of backup system would I need to have good
redundancy

| Michael,
You probably won't get much of a response on this question. The information
you give does not appear to correspond to your question. From a hardware
standpoint, sure it's enough to move some data. But big challenge in a DW
is the architecture and design. The cost of hardware will be small compared
to the cost of man hours spent in proper design and implementation.
