Author server rejected connection

We have an MS Access 2003 application that has odbc connection to a SQL
Server database. We recently upgraded the SQL Server from 6.5 (on NT) to
2000 (now operating on an Win2003 machine). (This is an interim step until
we completely upgrade our application to remove MS Access.) Now that we are
running on a different server, when we execute our Access application, we are
getting errors " server rejected connection access to selected database
denied". I have updated the odbc connection to point to the new server and
relinked the tables within MS Access. Interestingly enough, after I relinked
the tables I am able to open the table within Access, but when I execute the
app, I get server rejected connection errors.

I am not sure if I have an issue with the server - not necessarily SQL
Server, or something coded within MS Access.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
