| Do you suggest putting SP4? Will it possibly solve the problem. Yes I am
using Enterprise manager and when changing colum name I get this error.

| My first suggestion is that you really should be using Query
Analyzer for those types of activities.
The issue you seem to have hit was corrected in SP4. See the
following:
FIX: An invalid cursor state occurs after you apply Hotfix
8.00.0859 or later in SQL Server 2000
