Author Asking again - ResultSet.getString() & unicode

Hi;

I have put a sample program, output, DB contents, etc. at
http://www.windward.net/jdbc_unicode.zip

When I call ResultSet.getString() it returns the ? char for any
unicode character that does not map to ASCII 0 - 127.

Yet when I access it with hibernate, which appears to do the exact
same thing - it works.

Any ideas????

thanks - dave
