Author Merge replication without IIS?
poeilu

I want to make merge replication between a SQL Server 2000 DB and SQL Server
CE on the device.

As I use Windows XP Home Edition I have no possibility to use IIS (is this
correct?). Is merge replication possible without IIS if I only use the cradle
(no internet)?

Thank you very much for any help about this.

Paul,

Merge replication requires IIS.

....just to make sure: Do I have to upgrade to XP Professional or can I get
IIS from elsewhere?

Thanks

IIS is included with a number of Windows operating systems, but as far as I
know it is not available by itself.

I do not believe that XP Home Edition can run IIS at all.

You can use Personal web publish (or what ever it is called in English).
This is included in all OS from win 98 and you can find it in controllpanel.
This is a small IIS.

That is not included in XP Home.
If you don't want to upgrade to XP Pro, Google for IIS on XP Home.

There's a hack that allows you to run IIS on a Home Edition XP.

Good Luck
