Author Merge Rep - Native error 25100

Ok, so I am converting a CF application from VS2003 to VS2005. The
particulars are VS2005, CF v2.0, client is PPC running Windows Mobile 2003
Second Edition with SQL Server Mobile Edition. I have installed the new
merge replication agent (sqlcesa30.dll) on the server.

When I make an attempt to synchronize using merge replication I am getting
native error 25100 on the client; “Unable to create the Command object
because the Query Processor (sqlceqp30.dll) is not present on the device or
not located in the same directory as the storage engine (sqlceca30.dll).”

In fact I have installed sqlce30.ppc.wce4.armv4.CAB (which should contain
sqlceqp30.dll) and sqlce30.repl.ppc.wce4.armv4.CAB (which should contain
sqlceca30.dll) on my PPC. Still I am unable to locate these dll’s on the PPC
(I’m guessing file explorer hides them). I have also tried uninstalling and
reinstalling all SQL Mobile files to no avail.

I need help soon as we want to deploy, and I really don’t want to have to
maintain a VS2003 version of this app.

That issue has been covered a few times on this newsgroup. Try to instantiate
the replication object earlier, at the application start-up, since the error
has nothing to do with SQL Mobile itself.

Alberto, thank you for your reply.

You mention that this “issue has been covered a few times on this newsgroup”
yet I have searched for it using the native error code number and phrases
from the error message itself like “no query processor exists” and have
gotten no hits. Could you refer me to specific posts?

I would like to get more information and detail about the issue. Note that
I have a post from yesterday titled “Merge Rep Error - No query processor
exists” in which Darren Schaffer recommends a work-around that I was unable
to get working. If you know more about that as well I would welcome the
information.

Hi,
I said 'a few times', not to criticise you, but because that kind of message
seems to be related to the dificulty to load some libraries on some conditions.

Thank you Alberto,

No offence taken, and your suggestion seems to have worked for me!
