| I just installed client tools and when I use the QA it will hook up to the
Database just fine, but if I go to the file menu, it locks up. Any ideas?

| Have you applied SQL SP4 to your client install? It contains some fixes for
QA lockups.

The file you want is SQL2000-KB884525-SP4-x86-ENU.EXE

| I have installed SP4 and it still locks up. It's wierd. I can go to the
edit and tools menu, but as soon as I hit the file menu, it locks up. To
add to the mystery, I can log in as someone else on the same PC and it works
fine. Go figure?
Thanks.

| Did it ever work? Since it sounds profile related have a look at
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\So
ftware\Microsoft\Mic
rosoft SQL Server\80\Tools\SQL Query
Analyzer\Recent File List in regedit. Are there any entries and if so are
they possibly pointing to invalid network locations i.e. a mapped drive that
no longer exists? If there are any entries apart from the (Default) value
then it might be worth exporting them and then deleting them and seeing if
that helps.
