Author SQL 2005 Thesaurus.

I'm testing now the SQL 2005 Thesaurus capabilities.
It seems that the product came with empty Thesaurus and the only way to make
it work is by define the Thesaurus in the XML files.
Is the final release of the product will be also empty?

Benny

They aren't empty - this is what I see in the latest CTP (April).

<XML ID="Microsoft Search Thesaurus">

<!-- Commented out

<thesaurus xmlns="x-schema:tsSchema.xml">
<diacritics = false/>
<expansion>
Internet Explorer
IE
IE5
</expansion>
<replacement>
<pat>NT5</pat>
<pat>W2K</pat>
Windows 2000
</replacement>
<expansion>
run
jog
</expansion>
</thesaurus>
-->
</XML>

Note that you have to remove the comment tags to use these replacements and
expansions.

Hi,
I'm talking about a full english thesaurus which I accept to find in the
product.
I'm using this file for creating the SQL 2005 thesaurus.
Regards,
Benny

You can get a "full" thesaurus from Word, but it doesn't ship with SQL
Server.
