I have a DTS package that copies data from an Oracle db to a MSSQL db .
When I schedule this package to run on the target server, it fails with the
following error…

Step Error Source: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers
Step Error Description:[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's
SQLAllocHandle on SQL_HANDLE_ENV failed
Step Error code: 80004005
Step Error Help File:
Step Error Help Context ID:0

I can successfully execute this package manually from my workstation.
I have Oracle client on my local machine but I am not sure if an Oracle
driver exists on the network server where my SQLServer resides. I’m making
an assumption that no Oracle driver exists on the server and that is what is
missing and causing my package to fail when I schedule it. Can someone
confirm this for me? I’m not a network administrator so I can’t check what
is on the server and I do not have an administrator for the SQL Server. Thx

Hello CC,

The O client needs to be on the PC/Server that executes the package
