SRS Export to excel row heigh trouble

Hello
I am using SRS2000.
All is ok when exporting to PDF and other formats, but not with excel.
The rows in Excel exported file seem to have a fixed heigh(12.75) and they
are not Wrapping for the complete text. Due to this I can see only the first
row in the cell.
1)How can I avoid this?
2)Is there a workaround to this issue? The report is doen using Table and
some Merged cells with CANGROW= true.
