how to create fact table based on starttime/endtime contract table?

Hi, I am new to cube design. I need to create a cube based on the joining of
several tables.

One of my tables has two columns called 'starttime' and 'endtime' for a
contract period. Initially i would like to create a cube that counts the
number of people who are incontract on a particular day. I am unsure how to
go about doing this. I realise i will need a dimdate table for the time
dimension. But how do I create the fact table? I understand the fact table
to only hold a single date column. How do i incorporate my starttime and
endtime for a contract period in a fact table?

Any help most appreciated!
