Hi,

I have created two hierarchies of the Date Dimension in the Analysis Server.
One for the Calender Year and the other for Financial Year in order to give
the user an option to analyze the sales either through Financial Year or
Calender Year.

But Analysis Server actually displays two different date dimensions while
browsing the cube. Is there any way by through which I can tell the Analysis
Server to display a single date dimension and in its browsing it gives an
option either to use financial year or calender. Something like this
Date-> Financial Year->Year->Month.....
Calender Year -> Year->Month ....
instead of
Date.Financial Year -> Year-> Month...
Date.Calender Year ->Year ->Month...

Thanks
Akber.

Usually that falls in the domain of the front-end MDX query tool. Good
query tools respect that multiple hierarchies should be treated as
mutually exclusive items (they don't have to be...but they should be).

It's sad that Microsoft did not include this in their own browser in
Analysis Manager...but their own browser is just after thought that we
are lucky to have at all.
