I have to remote desktop to the server everytime I want to review a
cube. Is it possible to have the analysis manager on my local machine?

No sure off the top of my head, but you can use Analysis Manager to
manage a remote server, just like you can manage remote SQL Servers with
Enterprise Manager.

Try inserting the install CD for SQL Server, go down the path of
installing AS and see if you can turn off the installation of the server
component and just install the client tools. (may need to choose a
custom install option)
