Hello everyone:

For those interested in web based OLAP reporting, we are happy to
announce the general release of OpenI 1.1
(http://openi.sourceforge.net). OpenI is a web application that does
out-of-box OLAP reporting utilizing XMLA compliant OLAP servers,
including Microsoft Analysis Services. You can download it today,
deploy it on any J2EE server, and start publishing interactive OLAP
reports from your existing cubes right away. Future versions will
include data sources other than OLAP cubes (relational databases, data
mining models, etc.). We hope an entire community will drive the future
roadmap of OpenI.

A demo of OpenI is available at http://demo.openi.org (username:
tomcat, password: shallow).

The 1.1 release contains integration with open source OLAP server
Mondrian (http://mondrian.sourceforge.net) through it's XMLA
implementation. Also to improve communication within the community, we
are putting all of our documentation out on a project wiki
(http://wiki.openi.org ) and we have also posted a product roadmap
(http://wiki.openi.org/index.php/Road_Map ).

We will greatly appreciate feedback and contribution from this usegroup
members. We look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Sandeep
Project Lead, openi.org
