Author HTTP Server registration

I am attempting to register a server in Analysis Manager via http and receive
an error stating:
Cannot open connection to Analysis server 'http://X.X.X.X/msolap',
The HTTP or HTTPS connection feature is available only with Analysis
Services for SQL 2000 Enterprose Edition. The server you are attmpting to
connect to is not an Enterprise Edetion server.

The issue is the server is infact an Enterprise Edition server.

Anyone ever see this before?

Analysis Manager works with direct TCP/IP connections.
Http access is for client data access only.
