Ours is a clustered environment. The analysis server is online in passive
node and SQL server is online in active node. We have about 30 cubes and we
are facing some major problem with our anlaysis server for quite sometime
now. We are not able to save changes to the cube or create a new cube. the
analysis manger goes to not responding state and task manager shows nil
resource utilization. recycling the analysis services from cluadmin didn't
help. restarting both nodes of the cluster resolves the issue. but then not
for too long. within a couple of days the problem starts again.

We are not sure of the root cause of the issue. and do not know the solution
too. We are in need of urgent help. do any of you have any suggestions?

We have a clustered enivronment on 2 SQL Servers that are 64bit itaniums. We
had similar problems where Analysis Manager would hang and we would have to
failover the Analysis Server; which would work for awhile. We eventually
worked out that the problem was the underlying query was not joining all
tables and therefore trying to return millions of rows. This was under ROLAP
storage. There is a problem using ROLAP on itanium machines I think. We
haven't had the problem since converting to MOLAP.

Hope this helps,
Ken
