Pivot Table error #N/A retreiving data from Cube

I correspond to the question of Tiago Rente from Oct 21 2004. There it is
described that a pivot table accessing an OLAP cube containing a larger
number of levels and field values with a lot of characters fails to retrieve
data from the OLAP cube and return failure, i.e. #N/A.

Tiago found out that the problem occurs when the total characters of the
entire "path" exceed 256 characters ! This seemes to be an Excel limitation !

My question now is, if - 1.5 years later - there is a SP or patch available
that solves this problem. I use Excel 2003 SP2 and this problem is still not
fixed.

Any Workarounds, SPs, Patches, hints are welcome ! Thank you for your help.
