Hi,

I'm sorry to disturb again, but I'm kinda having a trouble of understand how everything works. I've learn about the advice given that we have to migrate to a true database server when our volume is big. I understand dbf is a flat file kinda organisation.
However, i find little tutorials or guides that explain to us how to connect to MSSQL, MySQL or PostreSQL and use it like normal. Can anyone show me step by step on how to setup any of these. Most preferably MySQL as it is free and cheap for commercial us
e. Please. Any help will be very grateful. I just need like how or what to fill in the value in BDE preferably step by step then how we can call the data? Is it the normal way? Please... thanks..

Regards,
Mickey

There is a Knowledgebase article on upsizing to <a href="http://www.dbase.com/Knowledgebase/adv/dbase_to_interbase/IB008.htm">Interbase</a>. Which is an open source DBMS.

Hi Mickey

I wrote up a series of tutorials describing my installation of mySQL on
Win2K and then wiring it up to dBASE:

http://www.adojji.org/ChelseaData/mysql1.php

Currently, the dBASE part of it needs to be elaborated on. I intend to
continue working on it as time permits. Please provide feedback if you have
any trouble with it.

Thank you
