Getting Started with dBASE - dBase 5.7 .DBT Read Failure

I am in the process of converting a dBase 5.7 system to dBase Plus when I encountered the following error when trying to browse a table:

database engine error: read failure FILENAME.DBT

Otherwise the table looks OK.
If I remove the memo field the data reads just fine.

Any suggestions?

Looks like a corrupted memo file.
