Hello all heres my problem im working on a clients computer who's running Dbase pro 4.0 on a windows 95 machine. how can i convert the whole database to work on the dbase plus 2.01 for xp ?

2nd Question

can this dbase 4.0 running on the windows 95 machine 16 bit mainly run on xp ? if i had the cd ?

but please instruct me

The data doesn't need to be converted. If you mean the application, this
topic is covered in the user guide. Take a look ...

As Ken said, the database will convert itself to 2.01/2.5, the program will not. If the reports were written manually, not using the report writer, the conversion is quite painless and the xbase portion of 2.5 is nearly identical to 4 short of removi
ng the 'then' in if/then statements.

As for running it on XP, I have many machines running DBIII on xp just fine. There are a couple of issues like lpt captures etc that need to be addressed for compatability, but overall it should work.
