I hava a program written for us in d base 3+. The gentelman who wrote it for us passed away.
What I am trying to do is move the data from one computer to another with the same d base 3+ program. The reason for this is that we are upgrading one computer from windows 98se to windows xp and we are not sure d base 3+ will work in that enviroment.
The other computer has windows 95 and d base 3+.
There is a progrm to back up on d base 3+ but I don't see a program or command to install the backup.
If d base 3+ will run in windows xp there is no need to move the data.
Thanks

I just went through this recently with a client. dBase III+ works just
fine with Windows XP, as long as Windows can find the dbase folder.

In my client's case, it was easiest to place everything in one folder -
dBase, program files (.prg), data files (.dbf, .dbt, .ndx), and anything
else it needed.

The trickiest part is printing. Connecting a printer directly to the
computer's lpt port is the easiest. Otherwise, printer pooling (which
has been discussed in other messages here) works quite nicely.
