| Hi
I get the same problem when I try to open some dBase 4 files with Plus.
This can be sorted by setting the Plus table level in the BDE and removing
some of the complex dBase 4 indexes.
-
If you haven't done that, then maybe the index clue above can help....
Try to recreate your indexes, also make sure that there are no obscure
function calls in the indexes.
Good luck
Robbie

| Thanks Robbie.
I work with DBF7 table format ... BUT... the "obscure function calls in the indexes" was in a certain way the clue. - I usually download my tables+indexes from work to home with NO problem. For an unknown reason it seems that the download process might ha
ve screwed-up this time. Opening my tables one after the other showed that one of them couldn't be open. Fortunately I had multiple backups.
Since my downloads never glitched, I ASSUMED the problem was a much bigger system issue, caused by computer XP back-up utility. I even... reinstalled dBASE :-) I guess I look ridiculous.
Anyway, guys, sorry for the MAYDAY.
Assumptions are dangerous.
