I am an old dBASE for DOS user and I need some help getting started. All I need to do for starters is enter data and report it using the command prompt. I would have started by using a CREATE command, setting up the fields and then use APPEND.

I was advised to obtain dbase plus which appears far too complicated. Can someone direct me on how to get my old dbase 5 for dos working on windows XP so I don't have a this tremendous learning curve just to track about 100 records?

You should still be able to do these things from the command prompt.

If you have dBASE Plus, you might consider going into dQuery and doing
those things.
