To the best of my knowledge there never was a version 1.40. What exactly
are you looking for?
dBASE was never a free software package. You might try checking EBay to
see if anyone is selling what you're looking for ...

I don't think this was dBASE. It might have been something else ... The
..TST and .ERR extensions are definitely not dBASE, the .CPL sounds sort
of familiar, but ...
It might have been Clipper, Arago, FoxPro ... no idea, really.

| Post the code from the .prg file in the binaires group. We should be able to
tell if it's dBase or not.

| Rick, I do not know how to do what you ask. The Version 1.40 is the number of the program. I have been told that I need dbase II for dos.
Thank you for your help.

dBASE II? Gad. Good luck. I'd be surprised if you found it anywhere
except a computer museum ...

| I think you mean version 2.4 (circa 1983), as the first public version of dBII was 2.02 (8 bit, LOL).

Any later version of dBASE for DOS should run your programs. The last and
greatest is dBASE 5.0 for DOS.
