I am running dbase plus ver 2.01 on an xp laptop. The run mode for a form is not available. The form button in the designer toolbar is dimmed and run is not available in the view menu.
Do I have something turned off ?

Is this a custom form? (The icon is yellow)
Is this a menu? A popup menu?

If you look at the forms in the Navigator, only one of the four types of
icons shown is an actual form, the one that ends in a .wfm extension ...
that is "runnable" as is, the others aren't.

Yes, yellow icon. I was trying to pattern after the tutorial--first Base.cfm, Dataform.cfm and now my first form. As you can tell, this is the very first attempt to build a form in dbase plus by a very OLD dbase-dos programmer. Should I have used the whit
e icon. Thanks for the reply, I ordered your book this morning and I'm sure that will help.

A custom form is a good thing, but it can't be "run". It is used to base
other forms on, so that they inherit properties, events and methods of
the custom form, and all forms derived from the custom form ... well,
anyway, you have my book on order, so that should help, I hope. <g>

It sounds like yes, the form should have been done using the white form
icon. With a bit of work you could change it to use the custom form and
be a regular form, but ... it might be easier to start over on just that
form.
